To be a artist who gets to be part of the process of keeping the great American music included in these presentations alive is a great honor and opportunity. The positive message in these shows is as tangible to me as it is to the audience. These songs are as familiar and part of our memories as the smell of moms cooking or dads after shave. The smiles, the laughter, the connection to the music itself, the occasional spontaneous dancing are all a part of these presentations. But the connection to the young people is what makes this educational experience so special. I can relate to it because I was one of those youngsters absorbing this knowledge in my youth listening to music and reading books in libraries all over New York City.
